Who We Are
Lex’s Learning Foundation was established in October 2023 to honor the memory and to carry on the work of Alexandra Schmitt.
Alexandra was passionate about science, nature and learning. Lex’s Learning provides hands-on science and nature opportunities for students in our community.
What we do
Lex’s Learning provides hands-on science materials for local schools so students can explore the world around them. The simple application process cuts through the red tape that is often associated with grants and educational funding.
Why we do it
Alexandra Corrin Schmitt, 25, passed away on October 7, 2023, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. Born on February 18, 1998, she brightened lives with her laughter and found beauty in the natural world. A Buckeye High School graduate, she was studying to become a teacher while working at Bolton High School and Rosenthal Montessori as a paraprofessional. Alexandra was passionate about science and nature and her family established Lex’s Learning Foundation to honor her memory.
What We’ve Achieved
Our first project was to support Alexandra’s first and second grade students in Ms. Molly Ferrington’s class at Rosenthal Montessori School in Alexandria, LA. A butterfly farm with vouchers for a class set of larvae was delivered in November, 2023. Check back soon to see YOUR project highlighted.
